2024 Giveaway

Ten sponsors in ten towns hosted drawing boxes for our 2024 Season of Giving. The grand prize winner was drawn from our sponsor in Mitchell. In January 2025, our sponsor was contacted by the prize winner and told she had not received her prize yet. During the giveaway we kept notes and video of the winner. Unfortunately, in an emergency pack and move when our house sold, we misplaced the money order receipts and after speaking with the prize winner, learned that the money orders had not even been sent to the proper address! We were sick over it, but without receipts, we could only hope the money would turn up.

The business owner in Mitchell even volunteered to check with her friend at the postal service, to no avail. We waited the full year hoping either the receipts or the money orders would show up, but neither has happened, so we are re-issuing the prize.

Our board president will contact the prize winner to arrange for proper payment. We apologized to the winner when it happened, and she had a great attitude that "it'll show up when it shows up."

We do appreciate grateful winners, but we especially want to sincerely apologize for not putting out a statement earlier. The sponsors all received their $100 in advertising, however, some rumors and half truths have caused many great people to doubt us and our heart for helping people. Again, we apologize for not clearing the air earlier.

UPDATE : Prize has been delivered. Our gracious winner has told us that she will be donating a portion of this blessing to her church.

A perfect ending to this story that everyone was worried about, except for us or the prize winner.
